About Scott’s Mario’s El Burro Chile Verde

We’re just like you – searching for a way to recreate the legendary El Burro’s Chile Verde sauce.  Now that El Burro’s is closed we’ve got to find an alternative.

I (we) am  just a regular dude who’s been chowing on that stuff since the late 70s. I’ve probably dined at every table in the place including up-stairs and patio. I’ll bet I’ve eaten off every plate, utensil, salsa bowl, and chip basket in the place.

I’d have leftovers in the fridge and I’d still head over to Pruneyard for another plate just so I could get more of that sauce. Ungh!

That’s why I deconstructed this legendary dish. Having done that, I also love to cook and I love to share my cooking. I can’t share my Chile Verde with you, but I can share the recipe I developed and refined.
